Repairing Torn Roof Felt
We had a problem with our shed workshop flat felt roof leaking and needed a quick repair.
Repairing torn roof felt. I can see the roofing tiles. They have been cut in flaps and are still attached to the underside of the roof. Many roofs function quite well without any roofing felt so small tears and damage to roofing felt are not in themselves reasons to spend money on repairing it. Where wind driven rain is working under the roof and causing leaks then the felt will need to be replaced.
I have just bought a house and been up into the attic. In two sections the roofing felt has been cut or torn. I rather not have to get all the tiles removed to repair them. Repairing torn roof felt inside the attic.
I have a normal uk type cold roof with interlocking tiles over the roofing felt. Image description step 1. I havent yet been up in the attic when it is raining so i do not know if there is a leak. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
But make sure you check the instructions and leave enough time for the sealant to dry before sticking the new patch down. You can fix tears in your roofing felt by putting a patch of new felt underneath. As the tiles are in a good state i don t have any leaks at present but i rather fix the problem before it becomes an issue. A small part of the roof felt is torn inside the attic there is a draft coming through from the wind blowing is there a quick and easy way to fix this.
